I was an early adopter of the Arlo Video Doorbell and I am very pleased with this device. The device has been preforming well connected to my RAX200 router and I have not seen any downtime or disconnections. I have been ringing the doorbell many times and I have been getting the doorbell calls to my cellphones without issues as well as cloud recordings and I am pleased with the quality. I like that the doorbell has a Tamper Detection which triggers the siren if someone attempts to remove the doorbell; here is hopping Arlo will add this feature to their cameras. The Doorbell currently connects directly to your router and does not use the Arlo Smart Hub although using the Smart Hub will be an option in the future. The doorbell also comes with free 3 month subscription trial which is nice. I also heard from a little birdy that when the doorbell gets support for the Smart Hub that you will be able to use the Local Storage and have the videos save to that location. I also heard from a little birdy that the option to view your files stored on the Smart Hub through Local Storage will be viewable through the Arlo app very soon as well as some other new features to come. All in all I am pleased with the Video Doorbell and I like it better then the Audio Doorbell although I still like the Audio Doorbell because it does not need direct power and I can place it anywhere whereas this Video Doorbell does need direct power and uses you existing doorbell wires to charge the internal lithium ion battery.

Another POS from Arlo. Doesn’t work in normal or override mode. Definitely will not be purchasing any more Arlo products.I take back the POS comment on the equipment, and attribute it to the specifications. If the doorbell you are replacing is 20 years or older, you will very likely have to upgrade your transformer to16 or 24 volt. I upgraded to a 24v/40va and Video doorbell is working.Since most people buying this product are not electricians, Arlo should be clearer with the requirements rather than just trying to sell you.I also raised the star rating to 4.

I have three Arlo camera systems for multiple properties and am an Arlo fan, but this Doorbell Video Camera has multiple MAJOR design flaws. The lag time connecting your phone and the doorbell is pretty significant. About 50% of the time it was essentially useless. The mounting and angle brackets are made out of plastic that flexes way too much, especially on a stucco installation. By it’ very nature, stucco has small bumps and slight undulations. When the bracket flexes, the camera will not attach to the bracket. Also, if the mounting screws are not EXACTLY flush, the camera will not mount into the bracket. What’s worse is if you need to use the angle bracket. The design causes the mounting screws to protrude on one side, which also prevents the camera from attaching to the mounting bracket. It feels like this product was rushed to market before the holidays, and the design was not thought through. This is going back!

First off let me start by saying, if you are saying negative reviews on this product the Arlo video doorbell you are seeing reviews of the audio doorbell. Somehow the audio doorbell reviews got mixed in with the video doorbell reviews. This doorbell does have a camera and it’s fantastic. I have been wanting a video doorbell for a while and almost bought a ring but I held out for the Arlo because I already have two other arlo cameras and I wanted everything to be in one place in terms of app access. The camera is beautifully designed and works great. I don’t even have incredibly fast internet and it reacts and notifies me within seconds. If I had one complaint I’d say that it’s a little large but it’s not really an issue. Don’t hesitate, buy it, you won’t be sorry.

This doorbell is not hard to install if you have the required transformer with your current doorbell. The video/sound is good and operates fine. My problem with this video doorbell is that it requires a paid subscription to get recorded video. I have an Arlo Pro 2 camera system and you may add this as a video only option to the app- no recording. YOU MAY NOT add this doorbell to the Arlo Pro base station to record video- and I am mad about that. YOU MAY NOT add this doorbell to Apple Home Kit as of right now or if you can, it is not easy to do so or labeled in the diminutive manual- in fact the written material is poor. I like my Arlo Pro 2 video cameras, but this doorbell is a monthly cash grab by the company. If you are ok with the fees, then buy this doorbell as you will like it. If you have an Arlo system already, you may be disappointed like me unless you want to continually pay fees.

I have been waiting for a while for Arlo to bring out a video doorbell since I already have 2 of their “Q” cameras. The video doorbell was fairly easy to install. They provide good video instructions and the phone/tablet ap walks you thru the entire process. If you use the angle bracket then drill the lead holes at a slight angle too. Then the angle bracket will line up smoothly with the main unit. As noted, by one of the other reviewers, you need to take a hard look at your door chime transformer. My home was built in 1974. The video doorbell requires the transformer to be 16v – 24v AC. Mine was only 10v. I had to call technical support to get this information. It took me a while to find the location of the doorbell transformer. I did not buy it off Amazon because a local store had a better price and I could get it that night. PS: I am a very tough grader – so far this is as close to being a 5 as I could get it.

Great door cam. The only draw back for me is the slight delay with the notification.
